Visit South Shields

Joe McElderry returned to is home town in South Shields on Wednesday to sign his new single.

He was sneaked in to the rear entrance of the HMV store on King Street South Shields. The back street was cordoned off by police at both sides. The police presence was very large. There must have been at least 20 officers on duty to control the crowds.

Some people had queued all night to get a wristband allowing them to see Joe. Only 500 lucky people made it in, but the shop sold out of their 8000 supply.

I went down to see what the crowds were like myself. Unfortunately, the windows were screened off to prevent us peeking in to see Joe.
